My partner and I were recently lucky enough to receive the gift of a couples pregnancy massage at Yurt in the City from dear friends. As soon as I entered… read more the space I was transported and felt like I was instantly on holiday. My senses were delighted by the ambient lighting, music, soft decor and delicate wind chimes. On a personal level I was delighted to have dōTERRA Essential oils which were tailor picked to compliment my stage in pregnancy. The yurt was warm and inviting, it felt like the ideal remedy to City living. We were greeted by Rosie and Marcus who made us feel instantly welcome having never done anything like this before. My massage with Rosie was wonderful, she was extremely intuitive and sympathetic to my late stage of pregnancy. It was the deepest I have ever sunk into relaxation with a massage and I felt extremely safe in her magical hands. The treatment seemed to compliment and reflect the environment perfectly. Our baby even began stretching out her arms and legs slowly at one point which was a lovely connection. I felt like we were both benefiting from the treatment and much needed relaxation. The bed was ever so gently heated which was a lovely touch, it felt like a continuation of being held by Rosie’s magic hands, I couldn’t recommend her enough. It really was a wonderful experience to share with my partner and to take the time out together, both as a shared experience and in our individual treatments. As someone who plays sports but who has never received a full body massage he felt the benefits of Marcus’s treatment. It isn’t something he would ‘normally do’ but he said it was greatly beneficial both physically and for relaxation. ‘Marcus was firm when needed and gentle when needed. I would definitely do it again and have recommended Marcus to my friends who play sports but also as a nice thing to do as a couple.’ It took me a while to come around following the treatment and I was grateful for the light and airy seating area and for the time given to gain my bearings again. We floated out of there and had a long Sunday afternoon siesta feeling blissful, a feeling that has carried on into the week. I would highly recommend visiting Yurt in the City for yourselves or as a very special gift.
